On Tuesday, Jan. 6th around 1:30pm, the Fire Department was dispatched mutual aid into River Vale on a Battalion 7 Box Alarm assignment to assist with an electric vehicle fire. Engine 1 was assigned with grabbing a water supply and stretching a line to knock down the fire. Due to the vehicle taking out a telephone pole with high tension power lines, members had to stand fast on scene until PSE&G had secure all power. Once power was secured, the remaining bulk of the fire was knocked down.

Our department along with River Vale FD remained on scene for an extended operation due to needing constant water flow on the lithium ion batteries. Good job by all.
