Broadway Appliance Fire 4/25/26

On Saturday 4/25, shortly after noontime, the Fire Department was dispatched to Bruster's Ice Cream on Broadway for a possible fire that had occurred overnight. Engine 1-2 and Truck 1 responded and found that a piece of equipment from the store had burned up and melted to the floor damaging some plastic supplies but luckily did not extend, further damaging the building. Power was secured to the melted down piece of equipment and no further signs of fire extension were found within the building. The Ice cream shop was temporarily shut down by the Fire Official and Health Department to ensure any contamination to food was properly delt with.

The Fire Department was not alerted to this incident overnight while it occurred as the local alarm system went unnoticed due to no people being around to hear it activate.
