On Friday, September 29th, around 6pm, the fire department was dispatched to a reported car fire on Harrington Avenue. First arriving units found a single vehicle that had crashed into a guardrail on the side of the road on fire. Engine 1 arrived and quickly stretched one hose line to put water on the fire before it could spread to the low hanging wires and heavy vegetation. Engine 1-2 and Rescue 1 assisted on scene with overhaul and extinguishment of the fire. Good job by all crews. The driver of the vehicle made it out before the fire started.
